Welcome to Deception Glass Art Glass Studio. From her studio on the shores of Camano Island, Washington, glass artist, Elaine Iodice uses the medium of glass to explore the natural beauty around her and the decorative arts of various cultures and eras. About Fused Glass Pieces of specially formulated glass are hand-cut in patterns, placed in a kiln and fused together at a temperature of 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. The resulting flat piece of glass is then placed on a ceramic mold, returned to the kiln and heated to 1325 degrees F. As the glass warms it slumps into the mold and takes on the mold's shape. |
